Almost from the moment a Kansas City Bride anxiously says “Yes!” to her Groom’s proposal of marriage, she’ll seek out information that will help her realize her vision of the ideal wedding.
But, even before she considers her team of wedding professionals, from wedding DJs, photographers, florists, etc., a Bride will turn to the internet for ideas that will inspire her selection of the perfect wedding gown, the best venue, the proper decor, the most colorful flowers and so much more. I’ve worked with a number of Kansas City Brides that have told me that over the course of their engagement, they spent 30 to 50 hours researching their dream wedding and wedding reception on-line. They also admit, however, that much of that time was not spent reading articles. They were more interested in looking at photos.
To make it easy for Brides, and maybe a few Grooms, to discover exciting, romantic, colorful and creative imagery (and useful articles!) for their wedding ceremonies and wedding receptions in Kansas City, an extremely popular wedding blog, BrideTide.com, has put together a list of the Top 100 Wedding Blogs for 2011.
Although RonRuthWeddings.com/blog didn’t make the cut (Ours may have been #101), I’ve visited a number of the BrideTide.com, Top 100 wedding blogs of 2011 over the past year to stay current with what my wedding clients are seeing. I encourage engaged couples to check out the entire list of blogs at weddingblogs100.com, but offer the following as my personal, Top 5 favorites from the Top 100 wedding blogs for 2011.
Like the list from BrideTide.com, my picks are in no particular order.
Offbeat Bride – Not for the conservative Bride. The real, non-traditional wedding photos and articles pretty much capture the meaning of the blog’s catch-line, “Altar Your Thinking.” But, it’s still a fun read.
Austin Wedding Blog – A smartly written, chic wedding blog that, as BrideTide.com says, “is a bridal must-read.” (If I had to pick a favorite…!)
The Broke-Ass Bride – Truth be told, I really like the name of this blog for Brides on a budget.
Weddingbee – Although I’m not a fan of the “cutesy,” aliases given to the real Brides that regularly contribute to this blog, their experiences may help others that are in need of “lessons learned” information. In the interest of full disclosure, Ron Ruth Wedding Entertainment also has a Kansas City DJ business listing and reviews of our wedding DJ services on this site, as well.
