The Kauffman Center, An Extraordinary Wedding Reception Venue

This week we had the opportunity to get a special, sneak-peek of the new, yet to open, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City. Because we’ve already received a number of wedding DJ inquiries from Brides & Grooms hoping to have their wedding reception at the Kauffman Center, we were graciously permitted a guided tour of the areas that will soon be available for every type of celebration. What an absolutely massive and extraordinarily beautiful reception location this venue will be.

The largest wedding reception area is the lobby located outside the two halls…the 1,600-seat Helzberg Hall and the 1,800-seat Muriel Kauffman Theatre. It features a dramatic overarching shell featuring a glass roof and glass walls that provide sweeping views of Kansas City, MO. The Kauffman Center also has a variety of extraordinary and unique spaces that will make any wedding reception or private event unforgettable. The interior of this massive structure is nothing short of awesome!

We’d love to share photos of the interior wedding reception spaces we viewed, but cameras were, understandably, not allowed. There are, however, a great many photos and artist renderings on the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts website. Plus, you can get a decent view inside the performance halls in the video below.

The best news is, if construction stays on schedule, the Kauffman Center will host an open house for the public on Sunday, September 18, 2011. “Like” their Facebook page to stay on top of the latest information.
